BB475000 H0 N XL L M4

The SNCF BB 75000 (also known as the SNCF BB 475000) are 4 axle diesel electric locomotives ordered in 2000 by SNCF for freight operations to renew its aging fleet.

The locomotives are also classified as Prima DE30BAC

They are similar in appearance to the SNCF Class BB 27000, but are in fact the result of a collaboration between Alstom and Siemens. The internal electrical components are similar to those found in the Siemens 'EuroSprinter' made for ÖBB; the Rh 2016, and the bodyshell, bogies more…

The German Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik GmbH & Co KG developed the BR261 diesel locomotive. The prime mover of version 10BB is MTU 8V 4000 R42 and develops 1000 kW at 1800 rpm. With a maximum speed of 100 km/h and a tractive power of 258 kN the BR261 is used in heavy shunting service as well as for mid range freight more…

For heavy switching and freight service German State Railway DB ordered 31 samples of diesel hydraulic Voith-Gravita® loco. Prime mover MTU 12V 4000 R43L delivers 1800 kW at 1800 rpm and enables the loco to reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h. Also loco rental service Northrail and HzL in Southern Germany bought two samples each.

BR 614 N XL L M4

In 1971 German Federal Railway DB ordered 42 sampels of triple dieselhydraulic railcar VT 614. A MAN diesel motor D 3650 HM 12 U in both of the cab cars developed 331 kW at 2150 rpm. The railcars reached a maximum speed of 140 km/h and were sold or scrapped until 2010.

The four axle diesel for light branch and main line service were equipped with one diesel motor of Mercedes Benz, MAN or Maybach that delivered between 800 and 1000 HP. The motors had been interchangeable also between rail diesel cars VT 08, VT 11.5 and the famous V200 class. In the 1960s the V80 got a MTU MB 12 V 493 TZ diesel that had been used also in V100 class. more…
