V60 DR N XL L M4

The side rod equipped dieselhydraulic V60 (1968 BR 104 – 106, since 1992 BR 344 – 347) had been developed by VEB Lokomotivbau „Karl Marx“ for GDR state railway DR . The traction motors delivered 650 HP at 1500 rpm and enabled the loco to reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h. The non-turbocharged engine 12 KVD 21 SVW is quite similar to the motor of V180/V100.

V80 N XL L M4

The German federal state railway (DB) purchased ten samples of the class V80 diesel locomotive with hydraulic drivetrain in 1952. The four axle diesel for light branch and main line service were equipped with one diesel motor of Mercedes Benz, MAN or Maybach that delivered between 800 and 1000 HP. The motors had been interchangeable also between rail diesel cars VT 08, VT 11.5 and the famous V200 class. In the 1960s the V80 got a MTU MB 12 V 493 TZ diesel that had been used also in V100 class. more…

V90 (MTU-12V-652) N XL L M4

In the 1960s the German State Railway (DB) replaced old fashioned steam locos in heavy shunting service. The total new dieselhydraulic V90 is driven by a 12 cyl engine MTU MB 12 V 652 TA that delivers 1100 HP at 1400 rpm. The locos have a maximum speed of 80 km/h. In the 1980s DB installed shunting couplers and a radio control in the now called BR 290 and renumbered them in BR 294. Many of the very dependable locos are still in service.

Vossloh Euro 4000 N XL L M4

For spanish Comsa Rail and various private european railway companies, Alstom (later Vossloh Spain, today Stadler Rail) developed the six-axle EURO4000 main line diesel locomotive in close cooperation with the US manufacturer EMD from 2005 onwards. The 16-cylinder two-stroke diesel engine EMD 16-710 G3C-U2, which supplies the six electric traction motors with energy, has an output of 3178 kW at 950 RPM and, depending on the transmission, enables a top speed of up to 160 km/h. There are more…

Vossloh G1700-2 BB N XL L M4

Starting in 2002, Vossloh developed the four-axle diesel-hydraulic G1700-2 BB for heavy shunting and medium-duty freight train service. The Caterpillar 3512B diesel engine was customized to deliver 1700 kW at 1800 rpm. The transmission came from the more powerful G2000 with only two converters and a mechanical shift stage. With a top speed of 100 km/h, the owners of the four-axle locomotives are also happy to use the locomotives for main line service. Vossloh was able to sell 31 copies in more…

VT 11.5 N XL L M4

diesel railcar VT11.5 of the german railways DB, used for "High end" TEE traffic in the 1950ies. Each motor car was driven by one Maybach MD 650 motors (Mercedes-Benz MB 820 Bb) engine. You can select between 3 airhorns by setting CV48 to a value of either 0,1 or 2

VT 18 N XL L M4

Diesel hydraulic railcar VT18.16 (DR Baureihe 175, type "Görlitz")

VT 36.5 N XL L M4

The former Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) ordered 50 hydraulic foru axle diesel railcars numbered as VT 137 241-270 and VT 137 442-461. The MAN diesel motors delivered 360 HP at 870 rpm and reached a maximum speed of 100 km/h. After WWII 16 railcars went to DB, seven were owned by DR.

VT 614 diesel railcar of the DB

VT 62 N XL L M4

In 1926 German Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) received nine diesel mechanic rail cars for passenger service. The side rod equipped railcars developed 175 HP and reached a maximum speed of 65 km/h. please note: another 5 airhorns are selectable via CV48)
