Four-axle multi service diesel loco BB 63500 debuted in 1956 at French State Railway SNCF. The diesel electric loco develops 450 kW and reaches a maximum speed of 90 km/h. With its electric heating device the 580 samples were use in passenger and freight service.

Diesel electric loco DE 1002 of German manufacturer MaK is a reliable design for medium freight service of private owners. The 12-cylinder diesel prime mover develops 1120 or 1320 kW at 1800 rpm and enables the DE 1002 to reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h. The 24 locos are delivered between 1982 and 1988.

For heavy switching and freight service German State Railway DB ordered 31 samples of diesel hydraulic Voith-Gravita® loco. Prime mover MTU 12V 4000 R43L delivers 1800 kW at 1800 rpm and enables the loco to reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h. Also loco rental service Northrail and HzL in Southern Germany bought two samples each.

SNCF A1AA1A 62000 N XL L M4

1946 french state railway SNCF ordered 100 samples of diesel electric shunting locomotive 040 DA (later A1A A1A 62000) at Baldwin locomotive works. With its maximum speed of 96 km/h the locos also succeeded in freight service on main lines. Railway men nicknamed the class Yayas. The 6 cylinder 606 NA prime mover developed 660 HP at 625 rpm.

Wismarer Schienenbus N XL L M4

In the early 1930s the German Waggonfabrik Wismar developed a small two motor railcar. Each of the two motors develop 50 HP at the cars with 4000 mm wheelbase and 90 HP at the longer ones with 6000 mm wheelbase. The railcars reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h.

SBB Bm6/6 N XL L M4

For shunting service Swiss State Railway SBB ordered 14 samples of two motor diesel electric loco Bm 6/6. The locos develop 956 kW and reached a maximum speed of 75 km/h.

BR247-Vectron DE N XL L M4

Based on the electric Locos of Vectron locomotive family, Siemens developed a diesel electric version called Vectron DE. The diesel motor MTU 16V 4000 R 84 develops 2400 kW and enables the loco to reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

SBB Bm 4/4 N XL L M4

For replacement of old fashioned steam shunters Swiss State Railway SBB ordered 46 samples of diesel electric four axled Bm 4/4. The 12 cylinder diesel develops 620 kW and enables the loco to reach a maximum speed of 75 km/h.
