Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft DRG ordered 32 samples of electric railcar ET 85 in 1927. The four-axle units develop 500 kW and reach a maximum speed of 75 km/h (ET 85 05 and 09 enabled for 100 km/h).

E32 / BR 132 N XL L M4

In 1924 German Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft DRG received the first sample of side rod equipped electric loco E32. The 29 locos developed 1170 kW and reached a maximum speed of 75 km/h. In the 1930s eight locos were re-geared for a maximum speed of 90 km/h. In 1971 the last remaining locos quitted service at the DB.

For tourist travel the DRG ordered in 1935 two electric four axle railcars numbered elT 1998 (later numbered ET 91 01) and elT 1999. The locos are equipped with four traction motors BAZu 8871/4 and reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h. Most of the 332 samples built between 1999 and 2005 been delivered to Deutsche Bahn AG DB.

BR 442 / Talent 2 N XL L M4

In 2008 Talbot started delivery of electric regional railcar Talent 2 (numbered as BR 442). The manufacturer offers the railcars in different length up to a maximum tractive power of 4040 kW of a six-car unit. In any composite configuration each of the 325 railcars is able to reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
