In 1964 series production of dieselhydraulic main line loco V160 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn DB started.The four axle loco was driven by a 16 cylinder diesel motor MB 16V 652 TB. The 1900-HP-locos were used in medium passenger and freight duty and reached a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

BR 614 N XL L M4

In 1971 German Federal Railway DB ordered 42 sampels of triple dieselhydraulic railcar VT 614. A MAN diesel motor D 3650 HM 12 U in both of the cab cars developed 331 kW at 2150 rpm. The railcars reached a maximum speed of 140 km/h and were sold or scrapped until 2010.

The SNCF BB 75000 (also known as the SNCF BB 475000) are 4 axle diesel electric locomotives ordered in 2000 by SNCF for freight operations to renew its aging fleet.
