E94 N XL L M4

In the late 1930s the German DRG wanted to increase the weight of freight trains. Therefor six axle E94 had been developed. During WWII 146 samples were built. The six motor locos develop 3300 kW and reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h. After the war 44 locos were overtaken by Austrian Railway OEBB, another 23 were refitted by DR of German Democratic Republic of Germany. After building some new locos till 1956 the DB used 124 locos for heavy freight service. Sometimes the locos could be seen also more…

ELNA N XL L M4

To standardize steam locomotives, the Engere Locomotive Standards Committee (ELNA) was founded in 1917. In addition to the framework conditions for the Einheitslokomotiven of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft DRG, the ELNA also laid down principles for steam locomotives of non-state-owned railways. Three types were developed, of which the 1’C and D versions were by far the most common. Many parts could be exchanged for one another. Since frames, water boxes and driver's cabs were not more…

ESU BR 215 - 12V N XL L M4

The classes (BR) 215 and 218 diesel locomotives of the Western German Railway (DB) are used in mixed service since 1968.

218 101 to 194, 218 242 to 288 were equipped with a 12 cylinder 4 stroke main Diesel from MAN that was later called MTU 12 V 956 TB10 that generates 2500 HP. The 2800 HP version of this motor is called MTU 12 V 956 TB11.

In the late 1980s the exhaust system of BR 218 with the 12 V motor had been optimized. Since 1995 many of the 218 are equipped with motors called "MTU 12 more…

FO BDeh 2/4 41-45 N XL L M4

In 1941, the Schöllenenbahn and the Furka-Oberalp-Bahn in Switzerland procured five railcars, initially designated as BCFhe 2/4. These were designed for the 11kV, 16 2/3Hz AC system and featured appropriate equipment for the steep cogwheel sections. The four companies rebuilt and renamed the railcars several times until they operated as BDeh 2/4 from 1978. In adhesion mode, the 430 kW powered railcars reached 55 km/h and in rack mode 30 km/h. For gear and adhesion operation, the vehicles have more…

In 1972 Swiss narrow gauge Railway Furka-Oberalp-Bahn FO received five four axle electric locos with luggage compartment. The four motor locos developed 1032 kW and reached a maximum speed of 60 km/h in adhesion drive and 30 km/h using rack drive.

FS E626 N XL L M4

Elektrolokomotive FS E 626 Ep.IV-V

G 1000 BB N XL L M4

At the beginning of the 2000s, the Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB ordered 90 class 2070 shunting locomotives from Maschinenbau Kiel MaK with Caterpillar diesel motor. These locomotives, known as MaK G 800 BB at MaK, form the basis of the 4th type program of the manufacturer. As a more powerful version of the G800, the G1000, equipped with an MTU 8V4000 diesel engine, came onto the market on the same chassis. The 1100 kW strong (at 1860 rpm) and 100 km/h fast locomotive can be ordered for axle more…
