BR 03.10 DRG/DB  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For fast passenger service German Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft DRG ordered 60 samples of three-cylinder steam loco 03.10. The locos developed 1790 HP and reached a maximum speed of 140 km/h. DRG-successors DB and DR equipped some locos with new boilers. The locos without this re-design feature were scrapped till 1957. During the same year DB equipped 25 samples with new boilers. All 45 98.10 locomotives were recovered after 1945 by the Deutsche Bundesbahn, and continued to be used exclusively in their native Bavaria. Though the locomotives were initially indispensable, they were put out to pasture after the advent of the "Roter Brummer" rail bus, especially those used in passenger train service. SNCF A1AA1A 62000  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

1946 french state railway SNCF ordered 100 samples of diesel electric shunting locomotive 040 DA (later A1A A1A 62000) at Baldwin locomotive works. With its maximum speed of 96 km/h the locos also succeeded in freight service on main lines. Railway men nicknamed the class Yayas. The 6 cylinder 606 NA prime mover developed 660 HP at 625 rpm.

Vt858  LokSound V4.0 & LokPilot V4.0 for Factory Equipped Locomotives N XL L M4

For relations with less passenger traffic Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) ordered a quantity of 17 rail diesel cars with the VT 851-861 and VT 866-871. The 6-cylinder four stroke engine gave his power via four speed gear box onto one side rod equipped truck. Based on the passenger rail diesel cars the DRG also built three cars for light part load traffic. After WWII one passenger car stayed in service at DB till 1957, another one at DR till around 1960.

Until the end of the 1950-ies the DB employed 1960 auxiliary emergency vehicles containing tools and materials, which were engaged in case of accidents such as derailments. These vehicles were reconstructed old coaches. In early 1950s young German Federal Railway (DB) introduced four axle two motor dieselhydraulic V200. The loco is powered by two 12 cylinder 1100 HP diesel made by Daimler-Benz, MAN or mostly a MD650 made by Maybach. For use in passenger service all locos received steam heating equipment by Hagenuk. With its maximum speed of 140 km/h the locos were used for multi purpose.
