DB BR185.1  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For medium freight service Bombardier Transportation of Germany developed a four-axle electric loco BR 185.1. The locos are equipped with four traction motors BAZu 8871/4 and reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h. Most of the 332 samples built between 1999 and 2005 been delivered to Deutsche Bahn AG DB.

The V180 (Era IV BR 118, since 1990 BR 228) had been the first two motor diesel locomotive of the railway of GDR for medium main line service. The two turbo charged traction motors delivered 900 HP each and enabled the loco to reach a maximum speed of 120 km/h at 1500 RPM. For the use on branch lines the producer VEB Lokomotivbau “Karl Marx” developed a six axle version that shared the technical equipment with her four axle sister.

BR 18.4 / Bayr. S3/6  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

Bavarian fast train four-cylinder steam locomotive S 3/6 was produce in 15 series between 1908 and 1931. The locos developed 1770 HP and reached a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The locos were famous for pulling international luxury trains like “Rheingold” or “Wien-Oostende-Express”.

BR189 / ES64F4  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

Siemens/Krauss-Maffei developed a four-system electric loco on their Eurosprinter platform. Between 2003 and 2005 more than 150 samples left Munich factory. The four-axle loco develops 6400 kW and reaches a maximum speed of 140 km/h. German State Railway DB ordered 100 samples, MRCE another 45. Equipment for 1,5 kV and 3 kV DC enables the locos to operate in nearly any European country. Because of their moderate maximum speed the locos are used in heavy freight service mainly, but some can be more…

18 201  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In the 1950s Deutsche Reichsbahn DR of GDR needed a high-speed locomotive to test new passenger cars. The testing department of DR developed the 18 201 out of tank loco 61 002, a new boiler (out of “Reko” re-design programme) and the cylinders of a test loco. The loco develops 1590 HP and reaches a maximum speed of 176 km/h. 18 201 is the fastest operable steam locomotive in the world.

BR 61 Stromlinie  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For famous Henschel-Wegmann-Zug German Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft DRG developed three-cylinder steam tank locomotive 61 002 in 1939. The high-speed loco developed 1450 HP and reached a maximum speed of 175 km/h. After WW II SR used the loco till 1958. In 1960 parts of the loco was used to design high-speed loco 18 201.

BR 03.10 DRG/DB  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For fast passenger service German Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft DRG ordered 60 samples of three-cylinder steam loco 03.10. The locos developed 1790 HP and reached a maximum speed of 140 km/h. DRG-successors DB and DR equipped some locos with new boilers. The locos without this re-design feature were scrapped till 1957. During the same year DB equipped 25 samples with new boilers. The so-called Neubaukessel-03.10 developed 1870 HP and reached a maximum speed of 140 km/h. In 1966 the last more…

BR261  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

After Millenium the German State Railway (DB) need to order new locos to replace old fashioned shunting locos of Classes 362 - 365 (former BR V60) and 290 - 295 (former BR V90). The German Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik GmbH & Co KG developed the BR261 diesel locomotive. The prime mover of version 10BB is MTU 8V 4000 R42 and develops 1000 kW at 1800 rpm. With a maximum speed of 100 km/h and a tractive power of 258 kN the BR261 is used in heavy shunting service as well as for mid range freight more…
