RhB Ge 4/4 III  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For freight and passenger trains on the Stammnetz Swiss Rhetian Railways (RhB) ordered 12 samples of four axle four motor Ge 4/4 III. The metre gauge locos develop 3100 kW and reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h. Swiss Biére-Apples-Morges-Bahn (BAM) ordered another two internally and externally nearly identical locos.

VT612 DBAG  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

German State Railway DB AG ordered 192 samples of hydraulic driven diesel rail car 612. The two-car-units are equipped with two Cummins-6-cyl-diesel motors. Each of them develops 560 kW, what enables the rail car to reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The cars are equipped with tilting technology for higher speeds even on some branch lines.

SNCF TGV  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

It was developed in the 1970s by GEC-Alsthom and SNCF. Originally designed as turbotrains to be powered by gas turbines, the prototypes evolved into electric trains with the 1973 oil crisis. Following the inaugural service between Paris and Lyon in 1981 on the LGV Sud-Est ("LGV") (French: Ligne à Grande Vitesse, high-speed line), the network, centred on Paris, has expanded to connect main cities across France and in adjacent countries on combinations of high-speed and conventional lines.

RhB Ge 4/6  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In 1913 the Rhetian Railway (RhB) of Switzerland needed eight electric locos for their first AC line between Samedan and Scuol. The assembly had been done by SLM in Winterthur. The four driven axles are connected by side rods. Wheel arrangement is 2-8-2. With a tractive power of 1280 HP the loco reached a maximum speed of 34 mph. The last of the very successful locos had been taken out of service in 1984. In Swiss depot in Samedan 353 is still operated for fan trips

LGB ABe 8/12  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles N XL L M4

In 2010, a new era started with the year´s summer timetable among RhB´s rolling stock: the first 15 copies of the three-part “Allegra” dual-voltage railcars, ordered from Stadler, replaced some of the locomotives which had seen better days.
The powerful and air-conditioned ABe 4/8 3501-3515 can be either used on the main line´s AC system or the DC-powered “Bernina” line.
With further procurements, the operational concept of locomotive-drawn trains has changed with the exception of the Albula more…

Ge 4/4 II  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

The Rhetian Railway (RhB) of Switzerland ordered 23 four axle electric locos Ge 4/4 for the meter gauge Stammnetz at SLM in 1973. The 1700 kW locos reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h and are used for passenger and freight service.

Ge 6/6 I  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

The Ge 6/6 I of the Rhetian Railways (RhB) of Switzerland are nick named rhetian crocodiles. 1922 the first of 15 locos entered service. The side rod equipped Ge 6/6 had been the strongest narrow gauge loco of its time and delivered 1024 HP. With its maximum speed of 55 km/h the locos were even used for famous Glacier Express. Today two locos are kept for traction of museum trains.
