EMD GP39 EMD 12-645E3 Ed2 N XL L M4

The EMD GP39 is a 4-axle diesel locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between 1969 and 1970. 23 examples of this locomotive were built for American railroads. Twenty of the original 23 were built for the Chesapeake & Ohio, while the other buyers were Kennecott Copper (2) and Atlanta & St. Andrews Bay (1). The power for this locomotive was provided by a turbocharged 12-cylinder EMD 645E3B diesel engine, which could produce 2,300 horsepower.

FM 38D-6 N XL L M4

The FM H-12-44 was a yard switcher produced by Fairbanks-Morse from May, 1950–March, 1961. The units featured a 1,200-horsepower (890 kW), six-cylinder opposed piston engine prime mover, and were configured in a B-B wheel arrangement mounted atop a pair of two-axle AAR Type-A switcher trucks, with all axles powered and geared for a top speed of 60 miles per hour (97 km/h).

A total of 303 units were built for American railroads, 30 were manufactured (between August 1951 to June 1956) by the more…

The GE B23-7 diesel locomotive was first offered in late 1977. Featuring a smaller 12 cylinder version of the FDL engine, it is the successor to GE's U23B produced from early 1968 to mid 1977, but at 62 ' 2" long, the B23-7 is exactly 2' 0" longer than the firms U23B. The B23-7 competed with the very successful EMD GP38-2. General Electric also produced a variant, the BQ23-7, for the Seaboard Coast Line. A total of 537 B23-7's were built for 9 U.S. customers and 2 Mexican customers.

ATSF had on going rebuild programs for U-boats. After the success of the SF30C, Cleburne took aim at U23B's for rebuilding next. The SF30B is a one of a kind rebuild, which now belongs to Minnesota Commercial. ATSF saw it more effective to purchase new locomotives. The SF30B had many upgrades, the unit's horsepower was increased from 2300 to 3000 hp, as the Cleburne Shops installed a General Electric 7FDL-12F30UX prime mover. The electric systems were modified to Dash 7 standards, and Sentry more…

First introduced in the late 50's, the GE FDL is one of the most popular locomotive prime movers ever produced. Aside from a very few HDL prime movers installed in the AC6000CW's, FDL prime movers were still being put in every new GE locomotive until 2003 when the first Evolution Series was implemented.

Our GE 12cyl 7FDL Early Prime mover would be appropriate for the following locomotives:

The GE Dash 8-32B (also classified as B32-8 or D8-32B by some railroad companies) is a 4-axle 3,150 hp (2,350 kW) diesel-electric locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems between 1984 and 1989. It is part of the GE Dash 8 Series of freight locomotives.

A total of 49 examples of the Dash 8-32B model were built for North American railroads. The model is a 12-cylinder version of the (16 cylinder) Dash 8-40B and is powered by GE's 7FDL engine. The first units built for the Burlington Northern more…

The GE Dash 8-32BWH, also known as the P32-8BWH, B32-8WH, or P32 DASH-8, is a passenger train locomotive used by Amtrak, based on GE's Dash 8 series of freight train locomotives. Built in 1991, they were the first locomotives purchased to replace the EMD F40PH.

The Dash 8-32BWH operates in a diesel-electric configuration that uses DC to power the traction motors, producing 3,200 hp (2,400 kW) at 1047 rpm. When providing head end power to the train, the engine is speed locked to 900 rpm. Power more…

GE 12-GEVO 12LDD6 LATE EXH N XL L M4

Introduced in 2012, General Electric's Tier 4 GEVo Series represents the latest in diesel-electric locomotive technology. The GE Tier 4 GEVo is designed to meet increasingly stringent Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emissions regulations.

The EPA “Tier” emissions standards are a series, or Tiers, of allowable emissions levels based upon a locomotives’ date of manufacture. The highest and most stringent tier level, Tier 4, sets maximum allowable NOx and hydrocarbon emissions levels for more…

GE 12-GEVO LATE EXH N XL L M4

GE Evolution 12cyl "GEVO" Locomotives have a 4 stoke diesel engine and have been designed to be more efficient and more emission friendly than previous models. Evolution Series locomotives are equipped with either AC or DC traction motors, depending on the customer's preference, though admittedly there is little sound difference if any between the two.

All early GEVOs were delivered with the Nathan Airchime K5HL air horn. Later GEVOs started to recieve a slightly different K5HLL horn. Most if more…
