BR 120 N XL L M4

BR 120 had been the first DB loco with 3-phase motors. In 1980 five pre-series locos had been in test service. After many successful test runs e.g. in Austria, Switzerland and Sweden DB ordered another 60 locos in slightly improved design.

E94 N XL L M4

In the late 1930s the German DRG wanted to increase the weight of freight trains. Therefor six axle E94 had been developed. During WWII 146 samples were built. The six motor locos develop 3300 kW and reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h. After the war 44 locos were overtaken by Austrian Railway OEBB, another 23 were refitted by DR of German Democratic Republic of Germany. E10 / BR110 N XL L M4

For passenger service on main lines German Deutsche Bundesbahn DB received electric loco E10 001 in 1952. The four axle loco developed 3680 kW and reached a maximum speed of 130 km/h.

BR120DR /V200DR/Taigatrommel N XL L M4

For heavy freight service East German Deutsche Reichsbahn DR ordered 378 samples of diesel electric locos V200 (later BR 120, from 1990 on classified as BR 220). The 14D40 2-stroke prime mover develops 1471 kW at 750 rpm. Maximum speed was 100 km/h. As the locos were very loud people nick-named them Taigadrum.

ADtranz DE AC33C Blue-Tiger N XL L M4

With diesel-electric Blue Tiger DE-AC 33C German ADtranz entered the market of heavy freight diesel locos in 1996. After delivery of 30 samples for Pakistan and 20 for Malaysia another 10 were ship to some private railroads in Germany. The prime mover GE 7FDL 12 EFI delivers 2460 kW at 1050 rpm and produces the energy for the six traction motors GE GEB 15. The loco reaches a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

E18 / BR118 N XL L M4

Electric loco E18 had been the most important electric loco for passenger service of former Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG). Between 1935 and 1940 53 samples of E18 had been built. The locos reached a maximum speed of 150 km/h and stayed in service till 1985 (DB) and 1992 (DR).
