KG230 A12L-714 N XL L M4

From 1962 Deutz offered the two-axle dieselhydraulic KG 230 B in the power class of a Köf III. KG stands for small locomotive with cardan shaft drive, 230 for the power in PS and B for the wheel arrangement. The in-house air-cooled twelve-cylinder engine A12L714 developed 230 hp at 2000 rpm. The seven KG 230s built for explosion-sensitive plants were not equipped with a water-cooled six-cylinder diesel engine. The gears of most locomotives were set to a maximum speed of between 20 and 30 km / h more…

RhB Ge 6/6 II 701-707 N XL L M4

In the late 1950s the narrow gauge Rhetian Railway (RhB) of Switzerland recommended stronger locos for haevy freight and passenger service. After a pre-series of two six axle locos (#701 and #702) the RhB ordered a series of five more locos (#703 - #707) that show differences in front design. Technical equipment of the locos is the same. The end trucks are interchangeable with those of four axle Ge 4/4 I. The locos develop 2398 HP and reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h. Even after around 50 years more…

BR 151 N XL L M4

BR 151 For around 40 years the Class BR 151 represented the most important type for traction of fast and heavy freight trains for the State Railway of Federal Republic of Germany (DB). At the time of origin in the early 1970s the six axle loco were faster then any more more…

RhB G 2/2 - G2/3 N XL L M4

In 1896 Swiss Rhaetian Railways RhB ordered two samples of Mallet type G2/2 + 2/3. The locos developed 510 HP and reached a maximum speed of 35 km/h. In 1926 RhB sold both locos to a Swiss power plant company.

Ge 4/4 I N XL L M4

The Rhetian Railway (RhB) of Switzerland ordered 10 four axle electric locos Ge 4/4 for the meter gauge Stammnetz at SLM in 1947. The 1184 kW locos reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h and are used for passenger and freight service.

RhB ABe 4/4 II 41-49 N XL L M4

Since nearly 50 years Swiss narrow gauged Rhaetian Railway (RhB) uses their four axle electric railcars ABe 4/4 II. Four traction motors deliver 940 HP and enables the railcars to reach a maximum speed of 65 km/h. Four of the nine cars are still in use, two of them can be seen daily with nearly any kind of train.

RhB Gem 4/4 N XL L M4

For use under wire as a standard electric loco and to push snow plow Swiss Rhetian Railway (RhB) ordered two hybrid diesel electric locos Gem 4/4 in 1968. A 12 cylinder Cummins diesel motor generates the energy for the four electric traction motors. In both mode of operation the locos reach a maximum speed of 65 km/h.
