Ge 4/4 I N XL L M4

The Rhetian Railway (RhB) of Switzerland ordered 10 four axle electric locos Ge 4/4 for the meter gauge Stammnetz at SLM in 1947. The 1184 kW locos reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h and are used for passenger and freight service.

Ge 4/4 II N XL L M4

The Rhetian Railway (RhB) of Switzerland ordered 23 four axle electric locos Ge 4/4 for the meter gauge Stammnetz at SLM in 1973. The 1700 kW locos reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h and are used for passenger and freight service.

In the late 1930s the German DRG wanted to increase the weight of freight trains. Therefor six axle E94 had been developed. During WWII 146 samples were built. E03 / BR 103 N XL L M4

In 1965 German Deutsche Bundesbahn developed a six axle electric loco for fast passenger service. The unique design made the E03 (later 103) for the most famous German electric loco. All sample of the three designs reached a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Although they were developed only for light trains the 103 succeeded in heavy intercity service for more than 30 years.

RhB Ge 2/4 N XL L M4

In 1913 Swiss narrow gauge Rhaetian railway RhB ordered seven samples of small electric loco Ge 2/4. The locos are equipped with side rods and deliver 228 kW. For additional tractive effort, RhB increased power up to 450 kW at two locos. So the maximum speed increased from 45 to 55 km/h.

RhB ABe 4/4 30-38 N XL L M4

For the Bernina Railway, which opened in 1908 with 1000 volt direct current, the Swiss Rhaetian Railway purchased RhB 14 electric multiple units known as BCe 4/4. The four-axle passenger railcars had an output of 382 kW and reached 55 km/h. Three other vehicles classified as BCDe 4/4 were around 70 cm longer and had a luggage compartment.
