BDe 4/4  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

The Swiss electric railcar BDe 4/4 with passenger and luggage compartments entered service in 1949. SBB ordered 31 of those car, that reach a maximum speed of 110 km/h. For nearly 60 years the cars were used for regional passenger service and push-pull-operation.

BLS RABe 515  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For regional service with short stop distance Swiss SBB ordered 74 electric railcars KISS in 2012. Swiss BLS had ordered 28 for car consist. The BLS changed the name of the trains into Mutz or Ours (the Swiss and French words for bear). With the 8 traction motors of 500 kW each then BLS trains reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

BR193 - Vectron  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In 2010 Siemens presented new Vectron family as successor for successful Taurus locos. The customer has the choice between four electric and one diesel electric versions. The locos develop 5200 kW (DC version) or 6400 kW (single AC, DC+AC version). Depending on gear ratio the locos reach a maximum speed of 160 or 200 km/h.

BR 187 Last Mile Traxx 3  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For new electric locomotive class 187 Bombardier used its experience with American ALP-45DP locos. The 187 develops 5600 kW in all electric mode and reaches a maximum speed of 140 km/h. A 180 kW diesel motor enables the loco to pull a train upon non-electrified tracks with 50 km/h. The first three samples of class 187 were bought by Railpool leasing company. Those locos were leased to Swiss BLS railway. ===> (swiss radio communication selectable via CV 48 = 1) <===

For new electric locomotive class 187 Bombardier used its experience with American ALP-45DP locos. The 187 develops 5600 kW reaches a speed of 140 km/h. In 2013 German State Railway DB ordered 110 locos for freight service (BR 187.1) and another 20 samples of the version for passenger trains (BR 147) that reaches a maximum speed of 160 km/h. ===> (swiss radio communication and station announcements selectable via CV 48 = 1) <===

RhB ABe4/4 II 41-49  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

Since nearly 50 years Swiss narrow gauged Rhaetian Railway (RhB) uses their four axle electric railcars ABe 4/4 II. Four traction motors deliver 940 HP and enables the railcars to reach a maximum speed of 65 km/h. Four of the nine cars are still in use, two of them can be seen daily with nearly any kind of train.

RhB ABe 4/4 III 51-56  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

Swiss Rhetian Railway (RhB) received six samples of four axle electric railcar ABe 4/4 III. The railcars develop 1016 kW and reach a maximum speed of 65 km/h. For traction of longer trains the Abe 4/4 III can operate with older ABe 4/4 II or dual mode locos Gem 4/4.

PKP EU07/EP07  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In 1965 the polish Pafawag built English Electric design Class 83 in license as classified by the Polish State Railway (PKP) as EU07. Between 1965 and 1994 total 489 samples devided into two externally slightly different series left the factory. The four motor four axle locos (traction motor type EE541) deliver 2080 kW and reach a maximum speed of 125 km/h (with different gearing 140 km/h). Some locos are still in use at PKP.

ŽSR/ZSSK350 / ČSD ES499.0  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In Czechoslovakia two different tensions (3 kV and 25 kV) were used by State Railway ČSD. For easier handling of passenger trains between Praha and Bratislava ČSD ordered 20 samples of 160 km/h electrics ES 499.0. 18 locos, renumbered for ŽSR/ZSSK class 350, are still in service in Slovakia.

SBB Ae 8/14  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For traction of heavy train at Gotthard mountain Swiss State Railways SBB received three samples of 2-8-4-4-8-2 electric locos Ae 8/14 between 1931 an 1939. The giants developed around 11.100 HP and reached a maximum speed of 110 km/h.
