BR 245 Traxx DE ME  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

BR 245 is the brand new diesel electric multi-motor loco of German State Railway DB. Based on the electric locos BR 145-185 new 245 shares around 75 % of the parts with them. The four Caterpillar CAT C18 diesel motors develop 563 kW each. The loco is able to reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h. Only sometimes the traction motors need the energy of all of the four motors, so the electronic system decides by itself to start or to switch off motors during operation.

BR 23 - KM1®  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles N XL L M4

In 1949 the Deutsche Bundesbahn had ordered 105 locos of Class 23 steam locomotives to replace old-fashioned Prussian P8 locos. The 2 cylinder locos developed 1785 HP and reached a maximum speed of 110 km/h. They were used for passenger service, sometimes also for fast trains. Last 23 quitted service in 1975, but eight locos can be found at railroad museums in Germany and the Nederlands*********short whistle instead of the bell sound is selectable via CV 48 = 1

BR 65 - KM1®  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles N XL L M4

The BR 65 had been a completely new design of DB in 1951. The two cylinder loco had a maximum speed of 85 km/h and showed an excellent acceleration and tractive power. The BR 65 had been used for passenger trains in rolling country.

V15 / BR101DR  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In 1968 Deutsche Reichsbahn of GDR (DR) received first samples of side rod diesel hydraulic shunting loco V23. The diesel motor ER 6 VD 18/15-1 SRW of Motorenwerk Johannisthal delivered 220 HP and enabled the loco to reach a maximum speed of 37 km/h. In 1968 the locos were renumbered for 101, after foundation of DB AG the locos were classified as 311.

ET91/BR491 Glaeserner Zug  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

For tourist travel the DRG ordered in 1935 two electric four axle railcars numbered elT 1998 (later numbered ET 91 01) and elT 1999. Most of its electrical equipment the railcars shared with older ET 25. After a change of gearing the railcars reached a maximum speed of 110 km/h (before 120 km/h). One of the two cars survived Second World War and had come to DB. Till the 1990s DB used the railcar (491 001) for tourist travels. After a crash in 1995 DB did not repair the car but gave it to a more…

BR71  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

The six samples of 2-4-2 locos of BR 71 were ordered by Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft DRG in 1934 to replace railcars in light passenger service. The locos developed 570 HP and reached a maximum speed of 90 km/h. DB scrapped its remaining units in 1956.

BR247-Vectron DE  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

Based on the electric Locos of Vectron locomotive family, Siemens developed a diesel electric version called Vectron DE. The diesel motor MTU 16V 4000 R 84 develops 2400 kW and enables the loco to reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

E17 / BR117  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In 1928 German Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) received 38 samples of electric 2-8-2 loco E17. The eight motor locos reached a maximum speed of 120 km/h and were used by DB untill 1980. DR scrapped the final two locos in 1968.

Standart Class7 Britannia  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

Debuting in 1951 the BR Standard Class 7 had been one of the most famous classes of British steam locomotives. The two cylinder locos reached a maximum speed of 144 km/h and were used till 1966. 70000 “Britannia” and 70013 “Oliver Cromwell” are preserved and power fan trip trains.

BR193 - Vectron Last Mile  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles H0 N XL L M4

In 2010 Siemens presented new Vectron family as successor for successful Taurus locos. The customer has the choice between four electric and one diesel electric versions. The locos develop 5200 kW (DC version) or 6400 kW (single AC, DC+AC version). Depending on gear ratio the locos reach a maximum speed of 160 or 200 km/h. For shunting service on non-electric tracks users can buy a Diesel Power Module with a 180 kW diesel motor.
