Stadler Euro Dual / BR159  LokSound 5 factory equipped sounds N XL L M4

Instead of equipping electric locomotives with just a diesel power pack (last mile package), which enables them to be used independently of the driving current, for example on sidings, Stadler developed the EuroDual, which carries a full-fledged diesel engine. The EuroDual, run as the 159 series, runs purely electrically under the 15 kV-16 2/3 Hz system as well as in the AC and DC networks commonly used in France. Depending on the operating mode, traction power between 6150 kW and 7000 kW is more…

For spanish Comsa Rail and various private european railway companies, Alstom (later Vossloh Spain, today Stadler Rail) developed the six-axle EURO4000 main line diesel locomotive in close cooperation with the US manufacturer EMD from 2005 onwards. The 16-cylinder two-stroke diesel engine EMD 16-710 G3C-U2, which supplies the six electric traction motors with energy, has an output of 3178 kW at 950 RPM and, depending on the transmission, enables a top speed of up to 160 km/h. LGB ABe 8/12  LokSound V4.0 European Soundfiles N XL L M4

In 2010, a new era started with the year´s summer timetable among RhB´s rolling stock: the first 15 copies of the three-part “Allegra” dual-voltage railcars, ordered from Stadler, replaced some of the locomotives which had seen better days.

RhB ABe 4/16 Capricorn  LokSound 5 factory equipped sounds N XL L M4

To increase frequency on the meter-gauge main network, the Rhaetian Railway RhB ordered 56 units of the four-car ABe 4/16 multiple unit from Stadler. The four electric traction motors installed in one of the end cars produce a total of 1400 kW and accelerate the trains to a design speed of 120 km/h. Up to four units can be coupled in regular operation. The main routes are Davos – Filisur and Chur – Ilanz – Disentis, which are traveled at a maximum speed of 100 hm/h. At 163 km/h, a Capricorn more…
