Manufacturer: ESU, Item number: S0440, Version: V1-R1
The Belgian State Railways SNCB developed the 200 series from the proven diesel-electric 201 series from 1961. The manufacturer Cockerill installed the in licence Baldwin build eight-cylinder engine 608A in the 93 locomotives that were later listed as HLD 51, which developed 1450 kW at 625 rpm and enabled a top speed of 120 km /h. The most powerful Belgian mainline diesel locomotive at the time was initially used in front of passenger and freight trains. The passenger trains were heated by a steam boiler. With the extensive conversion of passenger coaches to electric train heating, the six-axle vehicles were mainly hired out for freight trains. The decommissioning took place until 2003, but the SNCB was able to sell 11 locomotives to Italian private railways.
Sound on/off:
Different starting processes can be selected with F1: 1x press button = warm start / press button 2x = false start / press button 3x = cold start
Heavy load:
F5 enables the heavy load mode: The diesel notch is always one up compared with normal operation. If you want to jump two notches, simply set CV 104 to 170 (instead of 160).
Brake function:
F17 will maintain the locomotive to full stop only when the function is put ON with the locomotive at a full stop. Manual notching:
F27 turns on the manual notching. Once F27 is on, you can use F28 to notch up and F29 to notch down. F27, F28, and F29 must be turned off to return to normal mode. If F27 is off and you press F28, the prime mover will run to full speed.
Disable brake squeal:
F30 will disable the brake squeal sound
